Entertainment Programme 2021 Announcement
The Fair boasts TWO Stages of entertainment by talented performers. Entertainment is important at the Fair to create a fun and vibrant atmosphere for visitors to stay longer and enjoy their day out with family and friends while consuming what is on offer from a large variety of vendors. Below is the 2020 entertainment programme that will be updated as the year progresses.

Coastella Stage with MC Vanessa Stacey
10.00 am - 10.45 am: EBONY LAMB
Honey voiced singer songwriter Ebony Lamb is an act not to be missed, having earned an enviable reputation amongst her contemporaries and music fans alike. Ebony has three critically acclaimed studio albums under her belt (released through her band Eb & Sparrow) and a touring legacy the country over. She has taken folk-alt-country to a whole new level, earning finalist positions for both album and song at the NZ Country Music Awards 2016. Her diverse sound sits somewhere between Nina Simone & Gillian Welch with a glimmering of Catpower.
11.15 am - 12.00 pm: T-BONE
Bringing their own blend of Good-Time Americana, T-Bone play this early summer’s show to warm your heart and get your toes tapping. Featuring a line-up of über talented musicians playing fiddles, mandolins, guitars double bass & banjo, and a repertoire that ranges from zydeco to old-time, blues to originals. These lads will dazzle you with a powerhouse of harmonies, world-class musicianship and a guaranteed good-time! Comprising of Coastella co-founder, Gerry Paul, American import Richard Klein, Whangarei multi-instrumentalist Dusty Burnell and musical genius Michael Muggeridge.
12.30 pm - 1.15 pm: KITA
Three-piece KITA are the most exhilarating new band to arise from NZ’s bubbling music scene. Based in Wellington, vocalist, writer and actor Nikita 雅涵 Tu-Bryant, keyboardist Ed Zuccollo and drummer Rick Cranson meld the soaring choruses of vintage rock, touches of modern jazz, pop and soul, and warm hints of synth into a singular style. Together, they generate a beguiling sound formed of their many experiences and influences. Born in Taiwan and raised in Auckland, front-woman Nikita was always musical, learning violin from the age of five before rejecting the strictures of classical training in favour of the rock played to her by her biker dad.
1.45 pm - 2.45 pm: RICHTER CITY REBELS + 2.45 pm ROAMING
Richter City Rebels are New Zealand's first and finest Second Line brass band. Made up of top calibre Wellington musicians, the Rebels bring the warm, infectious sound and magnetic culture of New Orleans to clubs, theatres and festivals all over the country. Blending RnB, soul, hip-hop, jazz and funk, it grooves deeply and pulsates with pounding bass and searing brass. Catchy vocals and chants draw the crowd into the party and the rolling, infectious sound is punctuated by the fierce crack of drums and percussion.
3.00 pm - 4.00 pm: H4LF CĀST
Medicinal Māori Music, tastefully mixing the new with the old, the H4LF CĀST crew create soulful Reggae/DUB grooves and dangerously bouncy Hip-Hop beats that will entrance the listener. Entwining the ancestral wisdom, H4LF CĀST delivers an experience you will NEVER forget. Entwining his ancestral wisdom, front man, Nikau Te Huki, delivers powerfully conscious lyrics with a psychedelic, shamanistic twist – alongside Louisa Williamson, George Maclaurin, Keanu Te Kawa, Jason Rapana and Jo Jenkins.

ZEAL Stage with MC Devon Welch
10.00 am - 10.30 am: THAT 80'S BAND
Well known and talented recording, mixing and music production extraordinaire Ross McDermott of Audiosuite, can always be relied on to bring a happy group of musos together to get the crowd going. In this performance, That 80’s Band will perform a variety of 80’s covers that will have you wanting to download their tunes on Spotify or dust off an old record or two.
10.45 am - 11.15 am: DRAGON SCALES MUSIC
Dragon Scales is a 4-piece young lads’ band from Te Horo with a passion for playing music and entertaining all ages with toe tapping tunes covers and their own music. The band is made up of Victor, Logan, Robbie and Saren and they are back practicing and getting new songs together for the summer crowds to enjoy.
11.30 pm - 12.00 pm: GLORYBOX
GloryBox is Taranaki’s foremost female acoustic duo featuring Karen Clarke and Celine Filbee. At full crank these femme fatales are all about gutsy vocals, strong songs, evocative harmonies and a bit of a laugh. You can expect a slick selection of raunchy originals and upcycled favourites with roots in country and blues vibes.
12.15 pm - 12.45 pm: DEVON WELCH MUSIC
Devon Welch is a musician who ranges from singer/songwriter, to vibrant MC, to fully-fledged powerhouse frontman in band environments. Based on the Kapiti Coast, his soulful vocals are complemented by his way with the guitar and added hip hop flavours. Having just recorded an album, he's about to release his messages global to those who resonate with his humanly, yet profound journey.
1.00 pm - 1.30 pm: JEEP ROAD
The Jeep Road sound is an interesting mix of original songs and covers. Overall, they are a relaxed, contemporary, bluesy/soul sound with enough toe tapping up tempo to keep the dancers busy. Joe works his arranging magic on the covers to keep them sounding fresh, and the band have dusted off their vocal cords to provide beautiful backing vocals.
1.45 pm - 2.15 pm: DAPA
Offering over 10 genres of performing arts, Dreams Academy of Performing Arts (DAPA) provides exciting and supporting performing arts education for all ages, through performance relevant programmes. All programmes emphasise the joy of performance and they strive for a positive experience for every student.
2.30 pm - 3.00 pm: KAPITI COMMUNITY CHOIR
Kāpiti Community Choir have just celebrated their second birthday and spend most of their time singing just for the fun of it. They are an all comers, inclusive choir who learn everything by ear and by heart. They enjoy sharing their joyful world and folk music in support of local community events.
3.15 pm - 4.00 pm: ANDREW LONDON TRIO
The Andrew London Trio consists of Andrew London on percussive guitar, Kirsten London on bass, and local legend Wayne Mason on piano. Titles like ‘Let’s Talk About Me’, ‘I Hugged My Mate’, ‘Middle Aged Man in Lycra’ are typical of Andrew’s quirky and whimsical songs that reflect Kiwi society with gentle irreverence, and playfully satire. They evoke the jazz & swing era, with sallies into blues and folk genres.
