Getting Ready for the Night Gig: Saturday Night December 2nd with Tami Neilson

Kāpiti Coast, Wellington, New Zealand, November 16th, 2023: Let’s get ready for an unforgettable evening of music, food and entertainment at the Night Gig being presented by Kāpiti Food Fair, and headlining the award-winning, fire-breathing, absolutely sensational soulful, rockabilly, country diva, Tami Neilson!

This OUTDOOR concert will run rain or shine, and promises an extraordinary experience on Saturday, 2 December 2023, from 6:45 pm to 10:30 pm at the Mazengarb Reserve, Paraparaumu, Kāpiti Coast.

“We’re thrilled to have Tami headlining,” says Helene Judge, co-owner of the Night Gig.  “She’s known for her tireless work ethic and subversive songwriting, and she’s set to mesmerize the audience with her seemingly infinite musical gifts and talent.  Having achieved remarkable success on her own terms in the global country music industry, Tami and her band will take command of the stage for a night of GOOD music!”

The inaugural Night Gig kicks off with the talented local act, Jodie and the Stowaways, taking to the stage for one hour at 7.15pm, to get the audience into the perfect mood for the main event.  Jodie and the Stowaways will bring a line-up of pop country tunes promising a unique energy on the stage.  Their mix of original material and cover songs (with a particular passion for 90's pop) makes their live shows a hit with audiences looking to have a good time!

“We really wanted to make sure we had everything concert-goers would need for a great night out under the stars, rocking to the toe-tapping tunes of Tami Neilson, spending time with friends and whānau, and making summer memories,” added Jeanine van Kradenburg, co-owner of the Night Gig.  “From your arrival to your departure, we want to give everyone attending a concert to remember!”

There is plenty of free parking on-site, including disabled parks, and for convenience there will free bus shuttles from Paraparaumu Railway Station departing at 6:13 pm, 6:43 pm, and 7:13 pm, with a return trip departing at 10:43 pm to catch the 11:06 pm train to Wellington – if the buses are full, please know there will be a second trip to make sure everyone catches the last train heading back into Wellington at 12:06 am.

Concert-goers can bring low seats, picnic blankets, and small soft bags with snacks from home if they don’t want to eat from our Food Truck Alley.  However, high stools or chairs, umbrellas, hard chilly bins, glass bottles or cans, and dogs are not permitted on-site.  Special note: Red Badge Security will conduct bag searches at the gate entry, so please be prepared.

This promises to be an evening that leaves a lasting impression in both the mind and body, celebrating the perfect blend of music, food, and community vibe.  Join us for an epic night under the stars at our Night Gig with super star Tami Neilson, and in Tami’s recent words, “I can’t wait to get the party started down in Kāpiti, in December, with my hot rockin’ band of rhythm!”
